Akron OH Moms Blog - Giveaways for Akron/Cleveland/Canton OH Area Residents & More!

I've been entering a whole lot of giveaways at Akron Ohio Moms. I was drawn there by some of the non-geographically specific giveaways, but I've found that she has a lot of really neat giveaways aimed at parents of pre-schoolers in the Akron/Cleveland/Canton area.

I'm not a mom myself, but I am in that area, and I have two adorable nephews (ages 5 and 2) who LOVE the characters in these shows. So (after confirming with their mom that they can make it to the shows if I won), I've been entering up a storm on their behalf. Hope I win them some tickets!

I'm going to give a short description of each contest below, and give you links so you can enter them yourself. If you're not in the Akron/Cleveland/Canton area, skip down below the shows...they also have some amazing contests open to people all over the country.

Akron/Cleveland/Canton Area Contests:

First off, you can win a Family 4-pack of Nickelodeon Storytime Live! tickets. This show includes all of the child in your life's favorite Nick Jr. characters, including characters from Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets! and Ni Hao, Kai-Lan!  The show is at the The Akron Civic Theatre on March 20, at 2 PM. Avoid Instant Cash Sweepstakes.

If you're looking for a rewards program, I'd suggest steering clear of Instant Cash Sweepstakes. I answered trivia questions for nearly a month, won and cashed out for $2.07...and got charged $0.36 by Paypal for the privilege, because Instant Cash Sweepstakes sent the money as if they'd bought something from me, rather than as a personal transaction. They tried to feed me a line of bull about being a business.

I participate in many online rewards programs, and despite all of them being businesses, I have never been charged a fee. Not on Paypal or any other sort of cashout or prize.

I repeat - they sent the money in such a way that I was charged a fee on sweepstakes winnings. Which, being meager to begin with, was a 17% loss. Nowhere in their FAQ do they warn you about this. (Or at least, they don't as of this date. Just checked.)

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

(Can you tell I'm ticked. Because I am.)
