Best instant win contest on the internet

Today, I'm going to share an unknown jewel. Which is to say, there is an entire post over on Slickdeals.net about this, but for some reason it is just not that well-known outside of SD. Which is both a shame and a boon. A shame, because it's a really easy contest to win! A boon because that's probably WHY it's such an easy contest to win. :-)

It's called Twist Txt Get, and it's run by Coca-Cola. It ends on 1/31/2010.

To enter this contest, I'm pretty sure you have to have a MyCokeRewards.com account. Which is free. This is normally a contest where you have to text in your Coke caps to win, but there's a FREE method of entry, which you can take advantage of twice a day. I'll describe that below.

The site say "someone could WIN every FIVE minutes!" so you have pretty good odds.

How to play:
  • Go to http://www.mycoke.com/home.jsp and sign up. I think they ask you to link your Coke Rewards account.
  • Click on "Twist Txt Get" in the menu on the upper-left.
  • On the new page, find the red speech bubble near the bottom that says "Official Rules!" and click on that.
  • Scroll down in the official rules until you find the "How to Enter" section. Underneath that, there should be a section titled "Alternate Method of Entry (AMOE)." Find the link in that paragraph that says "click here" and click it.
  • You should get a form filled in with your address information, if you are logged in. Check it and make sure that it's correct and click the submit button at the bottom.
  • Fill in the captcha on the next page, and click the submit button there, too.
  • See if you've won!
  • You can do this twice a day. Limit one account per person.
I have been playing once a day since early December. I won a $20 prepaid mastercard the very first time I played. Since then, I've won three more times - each time $20 prepaid cards. Only - they didn't send me $20 cards, they sent me $25 cards! Which means that I've won $100 so far.

You can also win movie tickets.

Cons:
  • They occasionally have technical problems. If you win, don't redeem again if you see your code in the "not redeemed" column after redeeming once. You will end up with two cards (at least one of which will have a $0 balance) and if you're like me, BOTH will have a $0 balance and you'll have to call them up to get it fixed. Other people have gotten $0 balance cards for no reason at all.

And recently there was a technical error where you were able to redeem, but when you were transferred over to the actual card site, you were told that your redemption number was invalid. Someone posted a solution to that particular problem in the SD post, though - so if you get that, sift through the post to find the solution. Worked for me.
  • You will have to sign up all over again if you win, on two different sites - the normal redemption site, and the card redemption sites. Lotta typing, but it's worth it. And if you win again, you can just sign in and all your info will already be filled in.

Be aware that they give you two options when you redeem - a refillable card, and a non-refillable card. If you pick the refillable card, you will need to give them your social security number. Which wasn't worth it for me.
Again, this ends on 1/31/2010 (unless they renew it). So hurry if you're going to enter!
