Song Meme, Day 1

I've seen a song meme making the rounds on livejournal recently, and it looks like fun! So I'm doing it.

How it works: every day, you post a song that fits certain criteria. I'm probably going to mostly stick to Youtube videos, partially due to copyright concerns, and partly because I often associate songs with videos (especially if I've heard them first in TV opening or ending songs, or music videos).

Disclaimer 1: I like quite a lot of Japanese and anime OPs/EDs, so many of the songs I pick for this are going to be Japanese. I shall endeavor to find videos with subtitles where possible, or at least link a translation of the lyrics!

Disclaimer 2: I reserve the right to swap one or more of these out for different (or slightly different) prompts, depending on whether it's relevant to my life and whether I can actually think of a song that fits.

Day 1 - Your favourite song

This is HARD, because I have a handful of songs which are my favorites, and I'm not sure I like one more than the other. But I think I'm going to go with "Full of Grace" by Sarah McLachlan. It's an amazingly pretty (if depressing) song, and I've loved it for many years.





I'm embedding a video created by QueRowena and set to the movie "A Little Princess." It's a very well-done video, and oddly appropriate for the song.
